The Makeup Show LA (2013): Swatches!

Here are swatches of my goodies from The Makeup Show:

NARS Multiple in G-Spot:

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Golshan (top) and Het Loo (bottom)

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger:
*remember that I tend to go very light with concealers. I tend to add a lot of light under my eyes and in the center of my face. I would not use this to conceal blemishes... for that I'd use a color corrector. Concealers, for me, are specifically about adding light to contrast contour.*

Koh Gen Doh Aqua Foundation in WT-00
The lady at Koh Gen Doh uses this to bring 'up' any foundation color that's too dark. It's a heck of an adjuster. Because it's technically a foundation, it blends extremely well with other foundations... and can also be used alone as a highlighter.

Ellis Faas Skin Veil in S106:

  2. Thanks you guys. Sharon, NARS products are highly addictive. Be careful! LOL

  3. I should check out Ellis Faas, when I go the Makeup Show, LOL.

I think I'll get Ginger, now. I thought it would be too light, and I was surprised to see that NARS suggested Ginger as the matching concealer for those who wear their tinted moisturizer in Cuba. (Me) I'm scared of the "too light" concealer look. LOL.

    Thank you for the swatches.

  4. Ginger is a very light concealer, but it's orange based so it's very warm. It will not go ashy on warm skin. The NARS SA wanted me to get a darker color, but I'd already tried on Ginger and knew that's what I wanted. Test it out on yourself first and make sure you're comfortable with the degree of lightness before you commit.

  5. Shahada do you know whatever happened to the Koh Gen Doh Color Corrector in Goldenrod? I've come upon that in my research and get the feeling it might be something I need to add to my collection.

  6. Linda I think that it might have been discontinued. It's not on their website at all. I'm going to Nigel's (beauty supply) this weekend... I'll ask around and see if anyone knows anything.

    1. Linda, there is no color corrector in Goldenrod... I'm sorry to say. There is only the Koh Gen Doh corrector in Yellow. It has the formulation of a basic foundation and blends really well with any foundation to neutralize pink tones.
